We are establishing a national alliance for respectful, culturally safe maternity care for refugee and migrant women. Guided by lived experience, we ensure organisations advocate alongside parents. We never compete with our members for service grants.
Lived-experience Voices and Steering Committee
Multicultural parents who have experienced Australian maternity services contribute to our direction and integrity. You are welcome to join the Core Steering Committee, requiring just one to two hours monthly. We value your presence and never require you to revisit past trauma.
Organisational Groups
Professional bodies, community services, and research hubs that prioritize cultural safety and lived-experience leadership. Each entity designates one lead contact. Commitment: approx. 90 minutes monthly.
To join:
1. Verify your values match ours.
2. Email info@mcrmc.org.au with your representative's details and interest.
3. The Steering Committee reviews for alignment and potential conflicts.
4. Once confirmed, your organization is formally listed.
WHO WE SEEK
- We welcome medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health colleges, associations, organisations and nursing. We partner with migrant health groups. Our model is based on collaboration, not competition. We invite consumer advocates, liaison teams, and academic experts dedicated to achieving health equity for all women.
COLLABORATION MODEL
Affiliated groups maintain their unique identity and funding streams. MCRMC avoids bidding for the same program budgets as its members. A clear agreement on shared goals underpins every organizational partnership.
OUR VALUES
Uphold our core tenets: anti-racism, evidence-based care, and lived-experience leadership. MCRMC is not a platform for commercial promotion or grant competition. We strictly respect privacy, using media only with explicit permission.
