Academic partnerships

Community-led. Engaging with institutions when applicable.

We work together with academic bodies and experts when appropriate. Our team offers community guidance, engages in drafting, and contributes to leading studies. Lived-experience direction is a core pillar of our work. It defines the inquiry, the process, and how results are applied.

Maternity care experiences of migrant and refugee women

Griffith University
GU Ref No: HREC/2026/0667

MCRMC supports and endorses this research. The study is led by Griffith University, not by MCRMC. We are sharing it so migrant and refugee women can take part if they wish.

Your maternity care experience matters — we want to hear your voice. Have you given birth in Australia within the past 12 months and come from a migrant or refugee background?

Griffith University researchers are inviting women to share their experiences of pregnancy, birth and after-birth care in Australia. Your experiences can help us better understand the needs of women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and contribute to more equitable and culturally responsive maternity care.

  • Were born outside Australia in a non-English-speaking country
  • Gave birth in Australia within the past 12 months
  • Received pregnancy, birth and after-birth care in Australia
  • Are aged 18 years or older

Interpreter support will be provided during the individual interviews. Participants will be provided an AU$50 gift card to show appreciation for your time.
